Scientific Guidelines

General Guidelines

    • ISP Membership and Registration for the Convention are mandatory for all presenters and co-presenters.
    • Abstracts are to be submitted online only at the convention website www.perioconvention.com after creating and logging into the individual’s profile.
    • Abstracts for both papers and posters should be structured as Title, Introduction, Objective, Methodology, Results and Conclusion, wherever possible.
    • The maximum word limit is 200 (all inclusive). Abstract shall be truncated at 200 words. No tables, graphs or images are to be given in the abstract.
    • All abstracts for posters/papers will be the exclusive property of the Scientific Committee.
    • A unique number shall be allotted to each poster/paper at the time of acceptance of the abstract and shall be communicated to the lead presenter through his / her profile login or website notification. The final presentations should not contain the names of the students or those of their Institutions, but only this identification number.
    • One individual can include his / her name in only one presentation (Paper / Poster), either as a presenter or a co-presenter.
    • Only the first author can upload the abstract for paper/poster, but the names and registration details of the second author should be mandatorily mentioned in the abstract.
    • All presenters and co-presenters (for paper and poster) will be presented with certificates for their Scientific Presentations. Individual attendance is mandatory to obtain certificates.
    • The time and schedule of the presentations will be announced after the last date of submission of abstracts.
    • The Scientific Committee of the Convention will have the sole discretion to accept/decline a paper/poster or change the category or convert a paper to a poster presentation, and this shall be communicated to the lead presenter. Please note that accommodation of presentations in the paper category will be done on “first-come first first-served basis” of abstract submission of “completed studies”.

Paper Presentation Guidelines

    • Last date for abstract submission is 31st March, 2026. Only completed studies will be accepted.
    • Paper can be of the following categories:
      • Basic Research
      • Clinical Research
      • Case Report(s) / Case Series
      • Preventive / Epidemiologic Research
      • Implants Research
    • Some Papers may be converted into posters following the decision of the Scientific Committee, and the presenters will be informed accordingly.
    • The duration for the paper will be 8 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for discussion. The speaker should strictly adhere to the schedule. The talk time will be strictly enforced by the Session Chair.
    • All paper presentations are to be presented in a PowerPoint presentation 2003 or higher versions in formats ppt, pptx.
    • Speakers should arrive at the allotted hall at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the session for upload and preview of the presentation.
    • A maximum of two PG students can present a paper. Both presenters should be present at the time of presentation, although only one student will be allowed to present.
    • All speakers need to carry a pen drive of their PowerPoint presentation to the venue. Please ensure that your final presentation is available for download from your email, too.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

    • Last date for abstract submission is 31st March, 2026. Only completed and original studies will be accepted (except Review Category).
    • Posters can be of the following categories:
      • Basic Research
      • Clinical Research
      • Case Report(s) / Case Series
      • Preventive /Epidemiologic Research
      • Implants Research
      • Review (Only first year PG students are eligible)
    • Poster should be of: Size: 4 ft X 3 ft. Orientation: portrait. It should be printed on good-quality photographic paper. The unique reference number (to be provided after abstract submission) should be printed at the upper right corner of the poster.
    • 2 minutes time will be allowed to present the poster in front of the judges.
    • The list of materials to be brought by the presenter for display of the poster will be announced after the last date of submission of the abstract.
    • Presenters should arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the session to fix/hang the poster at the allocated site.
    • A maximum of two PG students can present a poster. Both presenters should be present at the time of the presentation.
